Why We Run Challenges

At Round 1 Fitness, we’re big believers in habits. Day in, day out, it’s those small, consistent choices that shape our health, our energy, and our confidence. But here’s the truth: staying inside our comfort zone doesn’t drive growth.

That’s why we run challenges. Not to “break” you. Not to starve you. But to nudge you just a little bit further than your normal routine. A challenge is a short, intense block of effort that helps you break patterns, reset habits, and discover what you’re really capable of.


Why It Works: Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone

Think about it — most of us go through life doing “enough.” Enough classes to tick the box. Enough decent meals to feel like we’re on track. Enough effort to keep things moving.

But progress doesn’t live in “enough.” Progress happens when you lean in, step out of the safe lane, and commit to a season of more:

  • More consistency.

  • More effort.

  • More focus on what you’re eating, drinking, and recovering from.

Challenges create structure and accountability that force us out of autopilot. They turn “I’ll try” into “I did.”


Blocks Build Habits

A challenge isn’t forever. And that’s the point.

By committing to a 6-week block of increased effort, you give yourself the chance to actually rewire your daily rhythm. The stickers on the wall chart, the extras, the Friday Night Lights sessions — they’re not just about points. They’re about building consistency.

You’ll prove to yourself that you can:

  • Show up 3–4 times every week, no matter what.

  • Prep food in advance and fuel your body properly.

  • Push through the days when you “don’t feel like it.”

And here’s the magic: when the 6 weeks are over, the habits don’t vanish. They stick. The momentum carries. The confidence grows. That’s why we run challenges.


How Summer Slam 2025 Works

  • Duration: October 6 – November 14 (6 weeks)

  • Scoring:

    • 2 points for every class

    • 1 point for every EXTRA workout

    • 1 point per week for contributing on the Challenge Facebook Site
    • 3 points for Friday Night Lights

  • Points → Prize Tickets

    • 100+ points = 10 tickets

    • 75+ points = 5 tickets

    • 60+ points = 3 tickets

    • Entry = 1 ticket


The Prizes 🏆

Because a little incentive never hurts:

  • 1st Prize: $3,500 holiday package (We’re calling it the “Road to Bali” but you can go wherever you like!)

  • 2nd Prize: $1,000 travel voucher

  • 3rd Prize: $500 travel voucher
