Tip Tuesday – Tips to Reduce Hunger on your Diet!

My top tips to reduce hunger on your ‘diet’.

Stop snacking – Don’t get me wrong…There is nothing inherently wrong with snacking…But my issue with snacking, is it tends to be mindless eating, and I’m all about mindful eating.

I would rather you add in another meal.

Even if that is a ‘snack’, I want you to consider it as a meal.

And that means taking some time to sit down and enjoy it, rather than ramming it down your throat…

So, swap a granola bar on the go, and sit down with a high protein yogurt and some berries (other snack options are always available).

Protein – protein is satiating, and will keep you fuller for longer. And building your meals around 20-30g of protein per meal, is a great tip to reduce hunger.

Volume – You can eat a LOT of some foods for the equivalent calories of very small portions of others… Eg, swapping half your rice portion for veg, will make your plate look a lot fuller, and will likely leave you less hungry…

If you try to diet by just reducing your portion sizes, and don’t consider food choices, you will likely struggle and feel pretty restricted.

Further to this…The process of eating, chewing and time spent consuming your meal, will also reduce hunger.

I mean, no one wants to sit down to 3 mouthfuls of food, and finish eating in 30 seconds.

Fill your plate with higher volume foods and enjoy it!

The reframe game – Some hunger is completely normal on a fat loss diet.

Try and change your mindset from…

“OMG. I am hungry, and I need to eat” …to…

” I am a little hungry, but that is normal because I am trying to eat less, and that probably means that’s working”.

Mindset is everything fam!
