42-DAYS: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
SEE WHAT 42 DAYS CAN DO.
42 days.
Six weeks.
Not enough time to completely reinvent your life — and that's not what we're asking you to do.
But it IS enough time to build some momentum.
To train consistently. To do a little more. To try a few things you might normally walk straight past. And hopefully have a heap of fun doing it.
That's 42-Days.
It starts at Round 1 on Monday October 12 and finishes with Friday Night Lights on November 20.
And here's how it works.
THE GOAL: 42 STICKERS
Your first goal is simple:
Collect 42 Red and Green stickers across the six weeks.
Every time you earn one, it goes onto your 42-Days board in the gym.
Fill the board and you've completed 42-Days.
But there's a catch...
RED = TRAIN (aka CLASS!!!)
Red stickers are earned by attending your regular scheduled Round 1 classes.
You come to the gym.
You do your session.
You get a Red.
Simple.
Over the six weeks, the target is to collect at least 22 Red stickers.
Because 42-Days isn't supposed to be about finding shortcuts around training.
Training is the whole point.
GREEN = "Challenge Extra"
Green stickers are earned by completing one of the current 42-Days Extras.
We'll launch with three different Extras and change them throughout the challenge.
These aren't going to be “do five push-ups and grab a sticker” challenges.
You'll have to do some work - think 20-minutes effort to get one.
The Extras will give you different ways to add something to your normal training, try something different and keep chasing that 42.
But there's one important rule:
Your Green stickers can NEVER outnumber your Red stickers.
If you've earned 10 Reds, you can have a maximum of 10 Greens.
Training always comes first.
And because you need at least 22 Reds to reach 42, the maximum number of Green stickers that can count towards your 42 is 20.
THEN THERE'S GOLD...
Gold stickers are different.
Gold stickers do NOT count as one of your 42 Red/Green stickers.
They're something extra.
You'll have opportunities to earn Gold throughout the six weeks. Attending a Friday Night Lights class earns you a GOLD sticker. So does finding our weekly hidden IDOL challenge.
THE IDOL.
Some Gold opportunities will require effort.
Some might require a little luck.
And some might require you to be paying attention.
You'll want them.
Because...
COMPLETE 42 + COLLECT 5 GOLD
Everyone who:
Completes their 42 Red/Green stickers
AND
Collects at least 5 Gold stickers
will go into the draw for our major prize:
A $500 ADRENALINE EXPERIENCE VOUCHER.
What you do with that if you win is entirely up to you.
Something fast.
Something high.
Something terrifying.
Or something considerably more sensible.
We're not judging.
THE CLIMB
There's also one challenge that's going to hang around for the entire six weeks.
THE CLIMB.
This is our Long Game.
Rather than completing it once and moving on, you'll accumulate StairMill flights throughout 42-Days.
Every flight counts.
We'll keep track.
There'll be a leaderboard.
And there'll be something worth climbing for.
Full details will be released when 42-Days begins.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
Across the challenge we'll also have Friday Night Lights.
Friday Night Lights is still a scheduled Round 1 class — so just like any other class you attend, you'll earn a Red sticker for completing it.
But attendance at Friday Night Lights will earn you a Gold stickers.
So yes — on a Friday Night Lights night, you will walk away with your normal Red for training AND a Gold for whatever we throw at you that night.
And on Friday November 20, Friday Night Lights becomes the finish line for the entire challenge.
Six weeks done.
42 days done.
Let's see what we've got.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
$49.
We've deliberately kept the entry price low because we'd love as many Round 1 members involved as possible.
This isn't supposed to be an exclusive competition for the fittest people in the gym.
It's for anyone who wants a reason to show up consistently for six weeks and have some fun along the way.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
Registration is through FitBox.
Click "Settings" (bottom right), click "Memberships", "Add New Membership". Select "42-Days-Challenge".
Once you're registered, we'll take care of getting everything ready for you before October 12.
DO I HAVE TO BE SUPER FIT?
No.
Seriously.
42-Days is not a fitness competition.
Yes, there are challenges.
Yes, you can chase leaderboards if that's your thing.
But the main game is simply accumulating your 42 stickers.
Someone completing their 42 by consistently turning up and chipping away at the Extras has achieved exactly what this challenge was designed to encourage.
WHAT IF I MISS A FEW DAYS?
Then you miss a few days.
You've got six weeks.
This isn't about being perfect.
It's about continuing to come back.
That's why we're giving you different ways to keep moving towards 42 throughout the challenge.
SO...WHAT COULD 42 DAYS DO?
That's really the question behind all of this.
We're not promising a transformation.
We're not weighing you in.
We're not taking a before photo.
We're just creating six weeks where there's a little extra reason to train, participate, try something different and keep showing up.
Maybe nothing dramatic happens.
Maybe quite a lot does.
There's really only one way to find out.
