    Round 1 – End the Madness (Part 2!)

    Hi Everyone,

    Just a quick mid-week blog post to talk about some of the survey feedback we have been getting back – and what we are *TRYING* to do about it.

    For those who don’t know, each new person who comes to our gym gets a request to fill-out a survey at around about the 4-week mark from their first session.  They are only asked 3x questions – “what do you like?”, “what don’t you like?” and “what should we do better?”.  The responses are many and varied but primary amongst them are:

    More exercise demos in boxing.

    Cool-downs post class in boxing.

    Now – these are things that (obviously) pre-COVID#1, we used to do religiously…and then came the COVID-Safe re-design of the gym, the 32-minutes of training jammed into a 35 minute window (well – there are only 3-minutes in between classes) and chaos has since rained supreme.

    END THE MADNESS!!

    A few weeks back we ‘tested the waters’ of change by extending the classes (from 32-to-35 minutes – sneaky, huh!) and extending the breaks between classes (from 3-minutes to 10-minutes) on both Saturday’s and Sunday’s.  It has meant that whilst we are still ‘RUSHED’ (10-minutes still isn’t long particularly when the same coach is running back-to-back classes) there IS at least time for a post-session stretch AND a quick chat…

    In effect, there will be one session FEWER each night…but hopefully the change will enable us to do those little things like ‘birthday burpees’ without putting the entire timetable for the night ahead in danger.

    At this stage, this trial will NOT be extended to the mornings.  We are already pushed for numbers during the morning sessions and approaching capacity…I hope to find a solution for our morning clients in the next couple of months but am very hesitant to reduce class times in that ‘pre-work’ period.

    SO.  We are going to extend the trial to the afternoon sessions.  The new times (starting TUESDAY, March 2nd as Monday is a holiday) are as follows:

    Monday and Wednesday:

    Boxing:  3:45pm, 4:30pm, 5:15pm, 6pm and 7:45pm

    Body Work:  6:45pm

    Tuesday and Thursday:

    Boxing:  3:45pm, 4:30pm, 5:15pm, 6pm and 7:15pm

    These changes have been reflected on the booking system already – the time-table on the website will be refreshed on FRIDAY Feb 26th.

    I hope all of this makes sense!
