    Recipe of the Week – Bolognese Sauce


    Bolognese Tomato Pasta Sauce 

    500g Pork and Veal mince 

    1 x 400g tin diced tomatoes 

    1 tsp extra virgin olive oil 

    250ml tomato passata 

    3 tsp dried Italian herbs 

    1 x medium brown onion (approx. 135g) (diced) 1 x medium carrot (approx. 110g) (grated) 

    1 x medium zucchini (approx. 260g) (grated) 

    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 

    2 tsp stevia powder/sweetener 

    2 x cloves garlic 


    Turn the slow cooker on low. Grate zucchini  and carrots. Dice onion and throw all of the ingredients into  the slow cooker except the mince and oil. 

    Heat a fry pan on medium-high heat. Add the oil and  mince and cook until golden brown.

    Add to the slow cooker. Mix well and throw the lid on. Cook  on low for 4-5 hours. Or as long as you like to get the flavours  really infused. 

    Serve over pasta of choice. (Not included in nutritional info) 

    Top with parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast. (Not  included in nutritional info) 

    Hot ‘macro friendly’ tip:

    Replace the pork and veal  mince with any type of mince to find your personal nutritional requirements fit. Eg, turkey, chicken, 5% beef  mince.
