Our Classes

Round 1 Fitness offers more than Seventy (70) group and small group sessions each and every week.  Our first class of the day commences at 5am (weekdays) and our last session at night commences at 8pm.  Be sure to check our class SCHEDULE (http://round1fitness.com.au/schedule) to make sure you get to the class YOU want to.  All of our classes (with the exception of TANKS) are included in your Round 1 Fitness gym membership – and members do NOT need to book in for classes.  If you are not a member of our gym, you can book in for any class you hope to do by calling the gym on 9414 1141.  Casual classes are $18 per session – click the link HERE for details on our membership packages.

Boxing
A new circuit every day – Bag work, skipping, abs, barbells, assault bikes, rowers, kettlebells, Olympic rings, body-weight exercises…you name it.  Our Boxing for Fitness session changes every single day and has a little bit of everything in one high energy, 45-minute session.

Beginners
A ‘wound-down’ version of ‘Boxing’ with an extended warm-up and a focus on technique.  If you are looking for where to start, THIS is the place.

B+ Boxing
An intermediate version of the daily Boxing Class where we emphasise body weight activities. You “might” do some barbells or kettle bells, but this is primarily designed as a boxing and body-weight session.

Body Work
A more advanced workout which emphasises lifting and ‘pure’ cardio. New session plan every day on a rolling 6-week schedule – prepare to be challenged.

No Rules
Literally anything goes. If you can get through Body Work it might be time to try ‘No Rules’. Heavier weights, some more complicated movements and ‘RULES’ that are strictly enforced. Not a session for beginners.

Tanks
A small group, high intensity functional training class for people looking to push themselves to a new level. Members only – Bookings essential.  Please note that TANKS sessions are not included in your membership price – each session costs an additional $13.50 to attend and there are a maximum of SEVEN (7) participants per session.

What you need to bring

Pack your gym bag with a pair of boxing gloves, a couple of pairs of hand wraps, a gym towel and a water bottle. If you are missing any of that gear, don’t worry – it is all available from the gym. If you need to hire gloves, those are available as well for just $2 per session.

When you get to the gym you will see people with a whole collection of gear in their gym bags – knee sleeves, weight belts, gymnastic grips, lifting chalk, skipping ropes…it goes on and on. In time you might also want to have ‘your own’ but when you are getting started the basics will do – boxing gloves, hand wraps a towel and a water bottle!

Our Rules for Coaching

  1. Our sessions START and END on time. Our clients have lives and we are grateful for their time and money.
  2. Our coaches will focus on the group/client assigned to them exclusively. They will not use their phones (except as a timer if needed) and will keep conversations limited to those who are part of their training group. One exception to this rule is to assist another client who might be doing something that will result in injury.
  3. Our coaches know the names of our clients and are interested in helping them.
  4. Every client is thanked every time they workout with us. We get paid because they pay us – we are grateful for their support of Round One Fitness.

Our coaches are INVOLVED.  We are not rep counters: we are professional coaches. We look to continually engage with our clients when they are training and assist with their movements, focusing on correct technique and continuous improvement.  We don’t stand with our arms crossed acting as if bored. We don’t sit down on the floor cross-legged counting reps. We don’t lean on equipment while coaching – we pay attention, coach closely and offer guidance and feedback.  Our goal is to stay connected with the client for the duration of their session.
